The update today & yesterday is:

2 chairs bought & delivered
PC -- Acer brand procured and delivered( 1GHz, 128MB RAM etc..)
MTN SIM Pack Desk phone line installed -- 077-365544, Siemens GSM
handset borrowed from CFI/UoL

Premises now have:

-- Old desk, donated by CFI/UoL, anyone with an out of use Desk?
-- 1.5KV back-up power supply

Next?

NCR will confirm final price for RACK, patch panels & cords, LAN
& accessories plus labor t'rrow. Delivery & work will start immediately.

Hopefully, all major components of the  UiXP infrastructure will be
ready by end of week or early next week.

It has been suggested that we'll for the while leave it up to the
individual members to bring their links to the IXP premises.
Once we have clear  numbers on who wants to use what means -- i.e ISM
2.4GHz wireless, MTN fibre or private wireless band or UTL leased
lined/frame-relay/DSL or fiber(?), the IXP will make provisions to
every extent possible to facilitate member connections.

Meanwhile, Afsat who are themselves on the same premises  -- ground
floor -- as the UiXP will provide an IP link to the office on agreeable
terms. This will be short term until other options avail themselves.
