Re: Members/Site Access
Mark,
Isn't there a way of 'rigging' DNS servers to answer queries based on the
requesting source's IP address. I think this would be a more elegant
solution to the location issue though I do not know how involving and
scalable it would be.

Subject: Members/Site Access
Hi all.
It's been a very quiet two months, or less, since a member joined the
exchange. A call out to all other ISPs, what is taking you so long? UTL
have
provided a proof-of-concept opportunity with a free 128Kbps leased line or
frame relay connection, but I am seeing close to no movement. What is
happenning?
Meanwhile, a request to all interested parties; if you are hosting any
'local' sites 'outside' the country [UK, USA], could you please have a
copy
of that site [Web site, mail service, audio/video stream, e.t.c] with one
of
the ISPs currently at the exchange, and maybe make a link [if HTTP] on the
primary copy that says something like:
-->If you are in Uganda, click here <--
-->Else, click here<--
The first link would then hook back to a local IP address. This should
improve local traffic numbers, as well increase the amount of media
available over the exchange. Any thoughts?
