RE: Comments ......

I agree James,

Besides if we already start to find only the cheapest option then Uganda
will still be a long way from being part of the internet community. Costs
have to be made by all isp's and believe me it will benefit you all in the
future. Don't forget that your internet pipe will not grow that fast in the
IXP setup thus lesser expense and additional services can be offered to
where customers can subscribe and pay money for.

Seems I have to develop a habit of checking mail :---)

Anyway I am just jumping into the deep end of the discussion by asking:

1. Why should we start off with the Randy kind of set up ?
2. If we are truly going to benefit from support offered by Cisco,
dont you all think that we could as well go in for the proposal
#2 (refer to last meeting) ?
3. Since the routers to be bought by ISP's are the same in either
scenario and from the best of my knowledge Cisco is willing to give
us the Central router, dont you think that we are better off going
ahead with such a setup now other than wait ?

I have not yet really seen any technical draw back regarding Randy's
approach or the #2 approach we suggested in the meeting, apart from
the fact that it Randy's is abit more basic and simpler in approach
(especially financially).

Unless otherwise I beg to listen to other ideas.
